Audio Technician
Nerd Corps Entertainment is seeking a skilled Audio Technician to join our Team!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Audio/Computer System Administration
- Be knowledgeable in the use of Pro Tools, Avid products and related hardware/software systems
- Provide audio equipment support to production staff and sound editors
- Proactive in assisting production staff, sound editors and Avid Editors with technical problems
- Ensure all audio equipment and related computer systems are up to date with security patches, virus software including updates and application/firmware patches
- Routine maintenance of audio hardware including cleaning, cabling and preventive maintenance
- Provide support for AVID workstations, UNITY storage network
- Keep up to date with current technologies and be open to integrating new technologies
- Provide hardware support, this includes working with hardware vendors to trouble shoot RMA and fix damaged or faulted hardware
- Trouble shoot basic network problems
- Troubleshoot and administer peripherals, Printers, Fax machines and scanners
- Carry out duties in a professional and positive manner
Data Protection
- Maintain backup strategy and backup systems of audio files
- Troubleshoot backup system
- Recover Data from onsite backups as requested by production staff
Network/System Security
- Maintain system and workstation security policies defined by the IT Department
- Work with senior IT staff to enforce Nerd Corps network and system security policy
- Educate staff on common security procedures and requirements of safe and secure computing and file handling
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Apple OS9/OSX
- Pro Tools
- XP 32 bit/x64 Workstation
- TCP/IP Networks
- Plug-in licensing control for Audio equipment/Pro Tools
- Great team player
- Great attention to details
- Highly organized with an ability to multitask
- Proactive to anticipate the needs of production
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Thrive in a high pressure, deadline-oriented environment
- Willing to learn new technologies and operating environments
- 2+ years experience in sound/audio hardware/software systems
- Formal Education/degree in audio/computer systems support
AN ASSET TO HAVE:
- Windows 7 Pro x64
- Windows 2000, 2003 Server
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix
